It get's 12V from the iginition and is grounded via the alternator. 12V on one aspect and 1V on the opposite aspect (because of the resistence in de light itself and it does not short because of the diode, that makes recent only get the job done A method and so on.)I did not wire it to your gauge cluster, but fairly to an indicator light-weight bar
